We’ve entered a fascinating new phase for AI startups. Not long ago, announcements proudly proclaimed the ability to replace entire sales teams, audit departments, or junior developer ranks. Boardrooms echoed with “Go AI or go home,” and startups were booking deals faster than they could ship product. Never mind that many of those deals were more “tire-kicking pilots” than true adoption.
